David Santos of Um Segredo Supper Club Planning a Restaurant, Louro

For a while now, David Santos’s cooking at his Um Segredo supper club has inspired raves from friends of ours who’ve attended the dinners. Now we hear the Bouley and Per Se alum will open his own place, Louro, in the West Village. Santos takes to Kickstarter to talk about his vision for the restaurant, which is named for the Portuguese word for bay leaf (the chef’s parents emigrated from Portugal). The seasonal menu will range from “small bites and pastas to large format dinners, tastings and guest chef collaborations.” You’ll recall that Cómodo, now garnering buzz in Soho, also started out as a Latin-themed supper club, Worth Kitchen. Here’s hoping Santos’s first sit-down effort will be just as successful. [Kickstarter, Earlier]
