Fat Radish to ‘Pipe Haggis’ in Honor of Robert Burns; GoldBar Roasts Pigs for Tiki Mondays

• On January 28, Tiki Mondays with Brian Miller, an evening of tropical craft cocktails, will debut at the newly reopened GoldBar. The bar’s chef, Rich Sterling, plans to brine and cook a complete Polynesian pig roast in honor of the occasion. [Grub Street]

• Tomorrow is eighteenth-century Scottish poet Robert Burns’s birthday, an event celebrated throughout Ireland and Scotland with an annual Burns Supper. This Saturday, the Fat Radish will hold its own commemoration of Burns, complete with a bagpipe performance during the “piping of the haggis” (haggis is sheep’s pluck pudding), cock-a-leekie soup (chicken broth with leeks and prunes), and all-you-can-drink Scotch, naturally. [Grub Street]

• Legendary restaurateur Keith McNally, of Balthazar, Minetta Tavern, and Lucky Strike, plans to sue storage company Wine Care because the facility, which suffered heavy damages after Hurricane Sandy, is unable to grant McNally access to the $2 million worth of wine he stores there. [Eater NY]

• Nolita eatery City Grit, at which every meal is a ticketed event, will offer a six-course dinner of South Texan comfort food by chef Andrew Wiseheart of Contigo Austin on February 19 and 20. [Grub Street]
