If you didn't get a chance to get over to David and Karen Waltuck's well-loved and groundbreaking Tribeca restaurant Chanterelle before it closed abruptly in October of 2009, you'll probably want in on the special, one-night-only dinner taking place at Robert, the restaurant atop the Museum of Arts and Design that looks over Columbus Circle, on April 21. Just like old times, Karen will greet diners up front, while David cooks a six-course tasting menu in the back, and in keeping with the old boho spirit of Chanterelle, a custom menu will be created by an artist for the evening this one's by the Israeli-American Izhar Patkin, who started making art in New York around the same time the Waltucks served their first dinners. The menu is $145 per person, and only 100 seats are available; call 212-299-7730 for reservations. [Earlier, Related]
