Upper East Side councilman Dan Garodnick wants to crack down on food trucks. His new bill proposes that the city designate zones for trucks so they don’t take away business from rent-paying restaurants. It’s an idea he’s been floating for a while, and he’s previously said he wants the city to charge trucks fees. But even though his plans for regulation make him seem like the enemy, the NYC Food Truck Association is on his side, tweeting, “Thank you again for opening the discussion on this issue, Council Member.” [Earlier, NYP]
