Here’s the Trailer for Tasting Menu, an elBulli-esque Romantic Comedy on Hydrocolloids

Yes! We’re all going to get a feature film about life, death, shaved cod milt, and spherified olive oil that isn’t the other one that’s being made about all of those same things. Deadline reports that Magnolia Pictures has acquired Tasting Menu, an ensemble rom-com that follows a cross section of the food elite as they gather to commemorate the closing of the most influential restaurant that has ever existed and eat fancy food in a postmodern dining room. So basically, it’s like all those epic “I Ate at El Bulli Pieces” from 2011 crossed with Last Year in Marienbad and Love Actually! “The most important thing,” a chef tells a pair of ex-lovers who’ve reunited for the occasion. “As unbelievable as it may seem, emulsions only work when they are together.” So true.
