More Gum Woes: Wrigley Pulls Caffeinated Energy Product

It hasn’t been a good week for gum: In response to the FDA’s investigation of the dangers of foods and drinks with added caffeine, Wrigley is temporarily halting production, sales, and marketing of its new Alert Energy Caffeine Gum. One piece contains as much caffeine as half a cup of coffee, which could be especially dangerous for children and adolescents.
