Mikey Likes It Ice Cream, the retro-ish East Village shop at 199 Avenue A, will today debut its SHADYXV flavor to commemorate the release of Eminem’s new album. It’s made with a bunch of stuff from the rapper’s home state of Michigan, like tart cherries and Vernors ginger ale. Also, Sanders hot fudge, all of which presumably will add up to something that’s a bit more delightful than the dueling chainsaws and slasher imagery on the album’s cover, and decidedly more grown-up than Eminem’s recent freestyle pledge to punch Lana Del Rey in the face. The ice-cream social goes down between 4 and 8 p.m. today. Police barricades are already getting set up outside the ice-cream parlor, obviously.
