There’s Going to Be a Ben & Jerry’s Beer

While marijuana ice cream faces a legal hurdle in Vermont, the Ben & Jerry’s team has realized that absolutely nothing can get in the way of combining ice cream with beer. The company is collaborating with New Belgium Brewing on something called “Salted Caramel Brownie Brown Ale,” a special release with 6.3 percent alcohol by volume. It’s expected to debut later this fall.

Even better: A New Belgium spokesperson says that because both companies are registered B Corporations (sort of the broader business equivalent of being Free Trade), the ice cream will benefit Protect Our Winters, a nonprofit that fights climate change. So it’s a guilt-free beer!
