Because you need something to eat while you binge-watch Transparent, Amazon is expanding its Prime Now one-hour delivery service to include local groceries and premade meals in select parts of Manhattan. As of yesterday, anything Prime members want, basically, from D’Agostino, Billy’s Bakery, and Gourmet Garage can be ordered from the app. In theory, they’ll arrive at the door in one hour, assuming they live in an area Prime Now serves. That’s 11 Zip Codes right now, but Amazon promises to add more in the coming weeks.

Also coming soon, Amazon says, are even more markets — Eataly and Westside Market, specifically. It costs $7.99 for the one-hour service, but in a clear effort to create a FreshDirect killer, anyone who can hold out for another 60 minutes can secure two-hour delivery for free. All told, the number of people who can actually use this service is relatively small, but the company promises it’s already working to sign up local grocers in other cities that get Prime Now (Atlanta, Austin, Baltimore, Dallas, and Miami).
