The Coffee Shop of the Future Offers 3-D Printing

Get ready.
Get ready.

These days, it’s not enough to offer innovative iced-coffee drinks: Truly creative coffee shops boast 3-D printers, through which customers can make their own gadgets (and, sometimes, food). The pioneer is a café in Berlin called DimensionAlley, which mostly prints out small objects and figurines, but there are others popping up in Barcelona, Mexico City, London, and Tokyo. Naturally, there are plans in the works to launch a 3-D printing café in New York, and it’s scheduled to open in a TBD location this summer.
