A British man cannot thank Jamie’s Italian enough for the “side order of maggots” that came gratis with his spaghetti lunch on Wednesday. Part of his delight was surely the avant-garde presentation: Around the meal’s halfway point at the Norwich location of the celebrity chef’s restaurant, several just “started falling on my head,” the man claims. “I called over a waitress and she said, ‘Oh my god,’ then another landed whilst she was there and made her jump.”

Jamie’s Italian calls it “a single isolated pest-control incident” that was “dealt with immediately,” and adds that “at no point was the customer’s food affected and there appears to be no evidence of a wider problem.” But the customer says he isn’t “100 percent sure” he didn’t eat one. Maybe Oliver should just run with this. His schtick is sustainable food, anyways.
