Good news on a scorching day like this: New York’s premier shaved-cream spot — it’s like shaved ice, but fluffier — is growing beyond its East Village flagship. Next up is a West Village outpost at 167 Seventh Avenue South (at Perry Street), which is scheduled to open quite soon, in early August. Plus: Snowdays will also open in Flushing next month, with Brooklyn shops to follow “in the near future.”

Snowdays hand-makes its shaved cream in small batches each day, using Hudson Valley organic dairy, and it has expanded operations in the East Village to increase production. The flavors include roasted-black sesame, green-tea matcha, and vegan coconut, with toppings like mochi, red beans, Fruity Pebbles, and condensed milk. There’s no reason to ever tire of ice cream, especially with all of this summer’s innovations, but it’s a nice change for a frozen dessert.
