Long an advocate for inclusion, Ben & Jerry’s has made its first foray into nondairy ice cream with four flavors that are available starting Wednesday. Alongside two classics that now come dairy-free — Chocolate Fudge Brownie and Chunky Monkey — the company has also whipped up two exclusive flavors to turn the tables on dairy avoiders’ ice-cream envy. These include one called P.B. & Cookies, a cookies-and-cream-esque concoction that mixes in crunchy peanut butter, and then a Coffee Caramel Fudge that combines fair-trade coffee with fudge chunks and caramel swirl. All four use almond milk as the base for Ben & Jerry’s standard socially conscious ingredients. It’s a great day for vegans.
