Truckin'

West 14th Street has always been a corridor of Mexican food — there’s the El Idolo truck at Eighth Avenue; and on Sundays, vendors set up in and around Our Lady of Guadalupe church at 229 West 14th, hocking everything from churros to tamales to tacos to empanadas. But last week, there was a new addition to the scene: The Super Tacos truck, a 2007 Vendy nominee, quietly rolled out its second outpost. In addition to the truck it currently maintains at 96th Street and Broadway, it will now operate a truck at 14th Street and Seventh Avenue from 11 a.m. till 8 p.m. every day except Monday. The menu is below — pay special attention to the tlacoyo, a relative rarity. It’s a tortilla that, like a pupusa, is stuffed with beans and topped with lettuce, cheese, onions, and your choice of meat. Also rare: The truck delivers. Call the number below with your $10 minimum order.
